Dressed Up Framelits with Vintage Verses Gate Fold Card

Today I’m sharing a gate fold card that I created using the Dress Up Framelits Dies and the Vintage Verses Sale-a-bration stamp set from Stampin’ Up!  I’m far from the cutting edge of fashion, I’m pretty much a jeans and t-shirt person.  But this Framelits set makes it really easy for a jeans and t-shirt person to make a “dressy” dress card.

Vintage Verses

Here is the list of products that you will need to create this card:

  • Vintage Verses Stamp Set (Sale-a-bration item 129633 wood, 129636 clear)
  • Dress Up Framelits Dies (130101)
  • Large Oval Punch (119855)
  • Scallop Oval Punch (119856)
  • Vanilla 5/8″ Flower Trim (126869)
  • Basic Pearl Jewels (119247)
  • Sycamore Street Ribbon & Button Pack (Sale-a-bration item 130812)
  • Fan Fair Designer Series Paper (126918)
  • Island Indigo Classic Stampin’ Pad (126986)
  • Island Indigo Card Stock (122923)
  • Crumb Cake Card Stock (120953)
  • SNAIL Adhesive (104332)
  • Stampin’ Dimensionals (104430)

I started with an Island Indigo card base cut to 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ and scored at 2-1/8″ and again at 6-3/8″.  Then I cut a panel of Fan Fair DSP to 3-3/4″ x 5-1/4″ and I cut it in half length-wise to create two panels that were each 1-7/8″ x 5-1/4″ and I adhered each half panel on the card front with SNAIL.  Then I cut the dress from the Fan Fair DSP and the dress stand from Crumb Cake card stock using the Dress Up Framelits Dies and I adhered them together with SNAIL.  I added a piece of Island Indigo ribbon from the Sycamore Street Ribbon & Button Pack around the waist using SNAIL to adhere it and I added one of the flowers from the 5/8″ Flower Trim over the ribbon also using SNAIL to adhere it.  I adhered the dress and dress form to the left side of the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Then I stamped the sentiment from the Vintage Verses stamp set in Island Indigo ink on Fan Fair DSP, punched it out with the Large Oval Punch, adhered it with SNAIL to a Scallop Oval Punch that I also cut from the Fan Fair DSP and adhered the layered sentiment to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  To finish the card, I added 3 pearls to the upper right and lower left areas of the card and I added a strip of pearls around the neckline of the dress form.

One quick tip when using DSP on a gate fold card:  I find it easier to adhere the DSP panels on a gate fold card before I actually fold the card for the first time.  Just be careful that you’re putting the panels on the way that you want it to look once the card is folded, which is usually the opposite of how it would look when laying flat. The panel that ends up on the right side of the card is actually on left and the panel that ends up on the left is actually on the right when it’s unfolded.  Here is a picture of the card laying flat so it’s a little easier to understand:

And here are some additional pictures of the panels.  I also added a little strip of the pink lace DSP to the interior of the card and you can see it a little bit in the second picture.
